Keeping Adults Safe: Training for staff and volunteers

This certificated training course is for staff and volunteers who have regular and/or direct contact with adults at risk.

The training covers:

- awareness of risk of harm in adulthood;

- legal context of adult safeguarding;

- awareness of abuse issues;

- procedures for reporting concerns;

- procedures for planning activities and assessing and managing risk;

- confidentiality issues; and

- code of behaviour for staff/volunteers.

This training will assist voluntary, community and independent organisations working with adults at risk to achieve the minimum standards of best practice as outlined in the publication 'Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults - A Shared Responsibility' (Volunteer Now, 2010).
