Saval, The Michael McCarthy Charity Tractor Run

The Michael McCarthy Charity Tractor Run is an annual tractor run event that is organised annually in Saval Newry. This years run took place on Tuesday 27th December and consisted of many local farmers. Money raised from this event which totalled £1000 was donated to the suicide prevention charity PIPS Newry & Mourne

A grand total of 62 tractors ran. The route was a 17 mile circular course around Saval and some of the most spectacular countryside that South Down has to offer.

The tractors that took part in the run ranged from vintage to modern and many of the vintage tractors have been painstakingly restored while others are still a work in progress! It was all very well thought out which is a credit to all of the organisers.

Chairperson of the Saval VintageClub, Micheal Sands would like to thank all who came and participated on the day, all who supported with gifts and donations, a special mention to Trim Graphics who sponsored the signage for the event and Euro Spar for providing the refreshments at the event and thank you to  everyone who helped in any way to make the event the great success that it was.

PIPS Newry & Mourne would like to also thank Saval Vintage Club committee and members for choosing PIPS N&M as their chosen charities
